420-events- What to Do on 420 in Your State

Lovers have Valentine’s Day. The kids have Halloween. And the stoners have 4/20.

All over the world, on 4/20, cannabis consumers unite, share their love of marijuana and light one many up. This year, with 4/20 falling on a Thursday, we get not one, but four days to celebrate the high holiday.

With a focus on legal cannabis states, here’s what’s happening this 4/20:

CALIFORNIA

COACHELLA: Coincidental synergy at its finest, California’s signature music festival once again lands smack around 4/20. The first Coachella weekend (4/14-4/16) brings an early celebration, while the second weekend (4/21-4/23) will surely cure many weed hangovers. This year’s Coachella has a new musical act: The “Marijuana Oasis” presented by Weedmaps. The Oasis will welcome Coachella’s VIP guests with domes for vaping, edibles, and smoking cannabis. Coachella sells out almost instantly.

4/19 in Los Angeles CA: Mecca’s 420 Wonderland at MECCA 420. This “420 twist on the classic Alice in Wonderland story” features Dab Girls, Alice’s Smokeout, Madhatter’s Edibles and a Dab Garden. Entry is free with a California medical marijuana card. With a $60 donation, you receive a Mecca gift bag.

4/19-24 in Oakland, CA: Psychedelic Science. Featuring the “world’s first psychedelic banquet,” this event takes place at the Oakland Marriott City Center and also features a Sunset Cruise. More info/tickets right here.

4/20 in Santa Ana, CA: The Smokers Club Show With Lil Uzi Vert, Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies Presented by Weedmaps at The Observatory. A star-studded cast of young rappers will light Orange County up. The show is already sold out but tickets are available on StubHub.

4/20 in San Francisco, CA: Berner Presents Hippie Hill featuring Lil B, Young Dolph, Jesse Royal & More at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium . It doesn’t actually take place on Hippie Hill, but Bay Area rapper Berner’s annual show pays homage to San Francisco’s outdoor 4/20 celebration. Tickets for 59.90 are available here.

4/20 in San Diego, CA: Lil Wayne at SDSU. The best (weed) rapper alive on 4/20: enough said. Tickets for $25 are available here.

4/20 in San Francisco, CA: Floating Points Live at Mezzanine. If rap isn’t your thing, you’re not at a total loss — at least in the Bay. If you’re a fan of Nicolas Jaar and downtempo music, get involved with Floating Points. Tickets are available here.

4/20 in Los Angeles, CA: The 420 Show with Matt Besser. Comedian Matt Besser (Upright Citizens Brigade, Improv4humans) kicks off a night of weed-related comedy material at the UCB Franklin Theatre at 4:20 p.m., with additional performances featuring Horatio Sanz, Jon Gabrus, Tim Simons, and more going throughout the evening.  “THIS SHOW WILL GET YOU HIGH.” Showtimes/info available here.

4/21-4/23 in San Bernardino, CA: Annual SoCal Cannabis Cup. High Times’ annual 4/20 festival moved from Denver to California last year, and that change lasts at least another year. This year’s cup features performances by Damian Marley Jr. (4/21), The Game (4/22), and Methodman and Redman (4/23). Tickets are available here.

420-events What to Do on 420 in Your State

We get it. 4/20 can be overwhelming, especially for the lonely stoners out there who prefer the sheen of their XBOX from that of the sun. But it’s a day to celebrate. While simply smoking weed and/or visiting recreational dispensaries is fun in and of itself — there’s plenty of that to be done — a stagnant stoner classifies as a lazy stoner. Get active, get outside, and enjoy both nature and the company of your fellow stoners.

As always, music is an amazing way to enjoy this holiday. Check out Jambase or ResidentAdvisor for music stuff in your zone. Naturally, parks and local gatherings occur on every continent because our people are out there everywhere.
