Alaska’s marijuana tax revenue

Alaska's marijuana tax revenue

Alaska’s marijuana industry has accrued more than one million dollars in taxes.
AP reports that’s significantly less than the 2 million that The Department of Revenue had predicted by this month, but officials say sales are about to increase.
According to Kelly Mazzei of the department’s tax division, outdoor growing operations have not yet made their first harvest.
She believes we might see the state’s tax revenue soar at that point.
So far, Alaska’s retail stores have purchased 289 pounds of marijuana from state farms.
According to Tax Division statistics, Fairbanks is the marijuana farming capital of Alaska.
