Columbus Police Send a Crafty Tweet to Owner of 5.5 Pounds of Weed

Police in Columbus, Indiana have sent out a tweet asking the owner of a large amount of pot to come and claim it. The marijuana was apparently delivered to the wrong address.

The humorous tweet featured a picture of several bags of weed.

The sly tweet reads: “Looking for owner of 5.5 pounds of marijuana delivered to the wrong address today. Stop by the police station to claim. Dont forget your ID.”

Was this an enticement or more of a witty entrapment?

They could be warming up for Carrot Top in the future.

A parcel company tried to deliver the package to a nonexistent address; this is according to Lt. Matt Harris of the Columbus Police.

“At some point, the parcel was opened and it was determined that it contained narcotics,” he said. It was then that they decided to send the amusing tweet. As it stands, no one has claimed the parcel.

Going by the nature of the “unusual” tweet, it was only natural that people would respond immediately. The tweet has hit around 1,000 retweets and about 1,300 likes.

For intance, Big Meanie responded to the post by saying, “we all know it was originally 8 pounds but you stole some.”

In recent times, the police have proved that they are not uptight guys in uniforms, but chuckle-meisters who could one day earn a spot in Hollywood.

We’ve seen them threaten drunk drivers on Twitter with a promise to play One Direction, tweeting a stoner’s to-do list and some have even used Facebook to threaten Nickelback with crimes against music.
