Two Benson men were arrested earlier this month after 7 marijuana plants were reportedly found growing on their back porch.
Around 1:30am on June 6th, Johnston County deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in the 2300 block of Benson Hardee Road. When officers arrived both occupants in the home said they were asleep and there hadn’t been a disturbance.
A deputy said he spotted drug paraphernalia near a chair inside the home. After being given permission to search the residence the plants were found on the back porch.
Steve Shad Stallings, 40, and Larry Alan Smith, 58, were both charged with manufacturing marijuana.
