New Documentary to Demystify Industrial Hemp

The Hemp Road Trip is creating a feature length documentary focusing on industrial cannabis. While the plant is federally legal, the DEA, State and local law enforcement remain confused and arbitrarily interfere in domestic commerce, while citizens nationwide continue to dispel propagandist fear about this plant.

“Education and awareness are key to ending prohibition and my hope is this new documentary will do just that,” said Rick Trojan, Founder of The Hemp Road Trip.

The road trip launched an indiegogo campaign to coincide with the movie trailer debut. You can check out the trailer and donate by clicking here.

“I can’t wait for you to see the trailer, I’m very proud of what our team has accomplished so far and this is only the beginning,” Trojan said, “With your help we’re going to reach a nationwide and even global audience, and help end prohibition of this plant!”

Rick Trojan is committed to ending federal prohibition of hemp. A few years ago, he became involved with a legal hemp farm in Colorado. The farm grew for CBD, a dietary supplement found in the cannabis plant. However, he quickly learned that hemp and CBD are still buried in outdated stigmas.

Trojan hit a wall when trying to go to market with the product. “We couldn’t ship our hemp products across state lines because the plant remained federally illegal.”

Upon hearing that his domestically grown hemp and hemp-infused products were only good in the state in which it was grown, he was confounded. “My buddy could import a similar compound and sell to all 50 states yet I was prohibited because my product was grown domestically! How stupid is that?!!”

So, he decided to do something about it and it was apparent that what was needed was an end to prohibition.

“I bought a biodiesel bus, wrapped it to display many of the things #HempCAN do.” Trojan embarked on a nationwide campaign which followed the 2016 Presidential Primary stops, bringing it up at town halls and political events.

The mission was to drive across the nation and they accomplished the huge task at hand. Visiting 48 states, they interviewed hemp farmers, processors, businesses and spoke to everyday citizens. Moreover, they focused on meeting with state and federal legislators, including most of the Senate Judiciary members’ offices.

“Each trip we share accurate information about the benefits of industrial hemp, and demystify the perceived danger,” he continued, “We’re making progress towards the end of federal prohibition.”

The next step is sharing some of our adventures through a video documentary to increase the breadth and impact of their positive hemp message.

“That is where your support is most needed – to help us get this message to more and more folks, and help rid America of fear of this agricultural crop.”
