Preston County Man Arrested After Growing 48 Marijuana Plants

The Preston County Sheriff’s Department uncovered a marijuana grow operation after following up on a tip from local residents.

Thomas J. Kirk III, 46, admitted to growing the illegal plants at 719 Elk Run Road near Hazelton.

Deputies seized 48 plants and sophisticated horticultural growing equipment from the property.

Kirk was arrested and charged with the Manufacture of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and was later released on bond.

Deputies are asking anyone with further information about the investigation to contact Lieutenant Bryan at the Preston County Sheriff’s Office at 304-329-1611.
