Breaking – Cannabis Standoff Involving The Prince Of Pot

Our neighbours to the North have been waging a war on drugs for just as long as the United States.  On the frontlines of this battle in Toronto, Canada, is none other than the Prince of Pot himself, Marc Emery.  It seems that trouble has once again been dropped on the doorstep of this decades-long marijuana activist.

Early into business hours on Friday, September 9th, Mr Emery was besieged by several police officers who had gathered outside of his dispensary on 600 Church St.  Mr Emery was then notified by his landlord that he was being evicted from the premises that he had leased.

The new trouble for Emery stems from the citywide crackdown on Marijuana dispensaries in Toronto.  Last month, police informed landlords against renting to “Illegal Businesses.”  Now, although Marc Emery has a lease for which he paid a sum of $24,000.00 for the express purpose of running a marijuana dispensary, his landlord wants him out.

“At no point have they offered to give our money back.  At no point have they disputed that, yes, that we did sign a lease that says that, but now we want you to go.”

Owner of Cannabis Culture

“We are acting peacefully.  We are good citizens, and we’re acting with respect.  The Landlord was aware of what we were doing, he had a previous cannabis tenant before us, and I believe that we should be accepted.  This building is great, and the community is happy to have us here.”

UPDATE 9/10/16:

The situation seems to have been resolved for now.  The Landlord and the police had vacated the area by approximately 11 am, reports Emery.  The owner also reports that the landlord has tried to change the locks on the business several times.  This appears to be an ongoing battle between Cannabis Culture, and it’s landlord, Elliot Sud.  While it is apparent that the landlord is trying desperately to get the business removed from its property, Cannabis Culture, at least for now, fights on.
