Canadian Cannabis Awards voting and inaugural awards gala announced

Since 2014, cannabis stakeholders, patients and enthusiasts have turned their attention to the Canadian Cannabis Awards (CCA), recognizing leadership, innovation and excellence in the Canadian cannabis industry. Continuing the tradition, Lift is excited to announce the 4th annual Canadian Cannabis Awards, its biggest celebration to date.

The CCAs celebrate all aspects of the industry, distinguishing the people, companies and products that make Canadian cannabis great. Cannabis consumers vote online in a range of categories, awarding their favourite strains, licensed producers, dispensaries, medical clinics and social media influencers, to name a few.

This year, Lift is introducing a class of awards that will be voted on by a committee of industry experts and insiders. Their experiences qualifies them to assess the business and technical achievements of nominees, deciding the Brand of the Year, Top Research Initiative, and more.

An industry first, Lift will be hosting a CCA gala dinner and awards ceremony. Presented by MNP LLP, the event will take place on November 30th at the historic Carlu in downtown Toronto. Tables are on an invitation-only basis, and a number of limited tickets will be released to the public at a later date. The entire event will also be livestreamed on the CCA website.

“The CCA have always been a point of pride for the industry, but this year is special,” says Lift CEO Matei Olaru. “For the first time, we’ll be gathering the industry’s best to celebrate our shared success and shine a spotlight on Canadian cannabis. Our industry is filled with talented and hard-working professionals, and we’re excited to recognize their contributions while adding a little glamour to their year.”

Some of last year’s winners include Broken Coast’s God Kush (top indica), MedReleaf’s Luminarium (top sativa), Women Grow (top Twitter) and Jenna Valleriani (top author/blog). Visit canadiancannabisawards.com for a complete list of past winners.

Online voting for the CCAs open September 1st, 2017 at canadiancannabisawards.com. Voters will have the opportunity to have their say and earn points for their Lift Rewards account for doing so. Visit before September 1st to nominate candidates and vote for your top cannabis strain, oil, licensed producer, dispensary and more.
