Cops SUNY Oswego student busted with 41 lbs. of marijuana

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego University Police confirmed Tuesday that a college student was facing felony drug charges after being collared while allegedly in possession of 41 pounds of marijuana.

Officers charged John J. Turano Jr., 19, a SUNY Oswego sophomore originally from Whitestone, with felony possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, Sunday.
Officers said they charged Turano after a traffic stop led to the discovery of the marijuana. Turano was also charged with two vehicular equipment violations and an infraction.

Turano was arraigned in Palermo Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
