LPD finds 7 pounds of synthetic marijuana following tip

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette police have arrested two people after a tip led them to a home where drug activity was present.

According to Lt. Scott Galloway, the Lafayette Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit got a tip on June 26 about the possibility of drug activity inside a home in the 1900 block of Jackson Street.

An investigation followed and police later obtained a search warrant.

Upon searching the home, police found more than seven pounds of synthetic marijuana, more than $600 cash, 37 grams of marijuana and three firearms.

Police arrested Jahmal Moore. He faces preliminary charges of dealing marijuana and synthetic marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a serious felon and maintaining a common nuisance.

Kiersten Collier was also arrested. She faces preliminary charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and visiting a common nuisance. A booking photo was not available for Collier.

Lafayette police say neighbors who report suspicious activity are a valuable part of keeping the community safe.
