Marijuana, cocaine and money seized in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO — Three people were arrested in a drug bust in Waynesboro this week.

The Waynesboro Police SWAT Team and Skyline Drug Task Force obtained search warrants for two separate homes related to a drug distribution case they were investigating.

Bonnie Lynne Wilson, 31, and Kevin Devon Wilson, 33, were arrested in the 800 block of Grayson Avenue in Waynesboro on Wednesday at about 4:30 a.m.

At the Wilson home, police seized a pound of marijuana, a half ounce of crack cocaine and several hundred dollars in U.S. currency, the Waynesboro Police Department said.

Bonnie and Kevin Wilson were each charged with two felony counts — possession and distribution of marijuana and possession and distribution of cocaine. They were being held at Middle River Regional Jail as of Friday.

Waynesboro SWAT and drug task force then searched a residence in the 2100 block of Cortland Street, also in Waynesboro, at about a little more than an hour after the raid on the Wilson home Wednesday.

Albert Vincent Cox, 55, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. He was being held at Middle River Regional Jail as of Friday.

The WPD release said “police found numerous suspects at the residence.”

It’s not clear if additional arrests were made at that point, but police said several pieces of evidence were seized and will be sent to the Virginia Department of Forensics lab. The release said the evidence is likely to yield more charges.
