Philipines: Baste Addresses Rumors About Using Marijuana

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte’s youngest son, Sebastian Duterte, finally spoke out to address internet rumors about him and  Ellen Adarna smoking weed in a January video shared by the actress on social media.

Adarna’s video has since been reposted under the YouTube channel LFMV which was titled “ELLEN ADARNA AND BASTE DUTERTE: SABOG NA SABOG.”

Duterte simply choose to share an Instagram photo of him smoking what appeared to be a cigarette. He did this to extinguish the weed rumors.

Duterte’s caption read: “Ingon nila marijuana pud daw ni.” (Sabi nila marijuana din daw ito.)

Earlier, Adarna told entertainment site PEP that she would not have posted the video online if they were using an illegal substance. Adarna clarified that that the son of the President wasn’t smoking weed but an electronic cigarette from Japan and that they were both drunk in the viral video.

“I wouldn’t post it online if it was weed. Hahaha. Sino bang tanga gagawa n’yan? Not unless ma-legalize na medicinal weed. Lol. Anak pa cya ni digong hajahajaj,” Adarna said, unedited.

“They can say whatever they say. We were both drunk. Baste was smoking real cigarettes. It’s called IQOS from Japan. You can google it,” she added.

Adarna even shared in jest on who she thinks could have possibly started the whole controversy.

Duterte and Adarna were previously involved in a romantic relationship. On January 29, Adarna revealed that they had taken different paths after they broke up before Christmas last year.
