PORTLAND, Ore. — It turns out a lot of pets are getting into your pot stash.
After treating more than 15,500 animal patients last year, DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital reported the most common medical issues Portland-area pets are brought in for, as well as the top items ingested.
Top 10 Medical Issues Treated
1. Vomiting, diarrhea and other intestinal issues
2. Ingesting inappropriate items
3. Wounds and lacerations
4. General pain and discomfort
5. Urinary tract issues
6. Respiratory issues
7. Trauma (falling, broken and fractured bones, hit by car, etc.)
8. Cancerous and non-cancerous masses
9. Allergic reactions
10. Seizure
Top 10 Items Ingested by Animals
Last year, patients ate more than 150 types of food, objects and other inappropriate items that caused illness or injury, DoveLewis says.

4. Grapes or raisins
5. Chicken bones or other meat bones
6. Socks
7. Dog or cat toys
8. Rat poison or pesticides
